Tree Planting Augers
Digga Tree Plant Augers
Tree planting augers are used to create holes in the ground that are suitable for planting tube stock, pot stock, other seedlings and young trees.
The tree planting auger has two different diameters:
One to create a Tap Root hole;
The other to make a hole bigger than the stock needing planting.
It works by loosening the soil and creating the perfect shaped environment for plants to thrive. It also makes planting stock very easy with the soil softened to allow for easy placement, backfilling and maximum water penetration.
How to use a Tree Planting Auger
- Connect your tree planting auger to your auger drive.
- Place the tree planting auger over the mark where you want to drill.
- Drive your tree planting auger into the ground as quickly as possible. Once at depth do 1x complete full rotation and stop rotating. Why? To continue spinning the auger at depth will cause glazing of the hole sides and bottom. Preventing glazing will help with water and root penetration.
- To remove the auger spin out in reverse leaving the loose material in the hole. This will create a crater to help with watering and prevent mixing of the soil and sub-soil.
